Examination "Goethe-Zertifikat B2" on February 25, 2020 (only for separate parts)

The Goethe-Zertifikat B2 requires advanced language skills. The examination corresponds to level four (B2) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The “Goethe-Zertifikat B2” was developed by the Goethe-Institut.

The “Goethe-Zertifikat B2” is recognized in many countries as an initial requirement for studying German.

Starting from now, you can register for the exam!

Exam date: February 25, 2020, 9.00-17.30

Please arrive at the place of examination 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start; we will check your identity and introduce the format and terms and regulations of the exam.

Register for this exam:

1) About one and a half months prior to the exam, the date and other specifics will be announced on our website under “News”. Check for the current exams and find out registration dates.

2) At 10:00 am on registration day, click on the “Exam Overview” at the top of this page and select “Book”.

Note: Before 10 am on registration day, the online-registration channel automatically displays "fully Booked".

The details to be filled in the online-registration form are: name, email, phone number, sex, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, ID number, address and postcode.

3) After completing the online-registration, you will receive an email from us within two working days to confirm your online-registration. If your online-registration was successful, please follow instructions (provided in the email) on payment of the exam fees. At our facility in Julu Lu, exam fees can be paid/processed on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. You can also wire transfer the fees. Please note that payments need to made within three days after receiving your confirmation email in order to secure your place.

4) Required documents for registration: a photocopy of your valid ID-Card or passport, two recent photos of good quality (No requirement for background color). Documents can be submitted on-site (in Julu Lu) or by post/delivery.

5) A detailed description of the registration process will also be provided in our confirmation email to you. Please refrain from transferring any fees before you receive our email confirmation.

The examination office retains the right to change examination dates. Results and grades of „Start Deutsch 1“ exam can be usually obtained on the afternoon of the working day following the exam date. Results and grades of „Goethe-Zertifikat A2” exam can be usually obtained in 5 working days following the exam date. B1, B2 and C1 exams take a processing time of about 15 work days before results and grades will be released anonymously on the website of the SLZ where participants identify their data through their examinee’s number http://shanghai.goetheslz.com/en/exam-results. The essays of the „writing module” of the Goethe Certificate C2 are sent to the Goethe-Institute in Munich for evaluation. The result is returned to us about 1 month later. If other modules in addition to the “writing module” were taken on the exam day, the results will be jointly announced after about 1 month. Goethe-Certificates will be issued within 3 work days after the disclosure of the results. Certificates can be personally obtained during office hours in Julu Lu 628, providing adequate identification, such as passport or ID. Third parties collecting certificates on behalf of the examinee need to produce a copy of that person’s passport or ID in order to receive the certificate.

This agreement is governed by the rules and regulations stipulated on the registration form.

Identity checks will be carried out on the day of the examination. Please make sure to have your valid passport (not a copy) or ID card with you for this purpose. Other forms of identification will not be accepted and will lead to a disqualification from the exam. Please also bring your confirmation of registration, as this shows your exam number, on the basis of which you will be identified.
